Many of our Nation’s veterans go off to war and come back a different person, it’s a fact and something many veterans struggle with. Everyone recovers in different ways and for some it’s through sports and fitness lifestyles. Invictus Games seeks to shine a spotlight on wounded veterans and offer them a chance to compete on the international level with other veterans like themselves.

“The word “Invictus” means “unconquered.” It embodies the fighting spirit of the wounded, ill, and injured Service members and what these tenacious men and women can achieve, post injury. The Games harness the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those whom serve their countries.”

In 2014 Prince Harry hosted the inaugural Invictus Games after watching veterans compete in the 2013 Warrior Games and how the power of sport helped them overcome their injuries. The 2016 Games will be hosted in Orlando with President George W. Bush as the Honorary Chairman. May 8-12 over 500 veteran-warriors will compete side by side in the name sportsmanship as thousands of spectators watch on.
