Shootout for Soldiers is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization that uses the power of sports to support active‑duty military members, Veterans, First Responders, and their families. We do this by raising awareness of the daily sacrifice and service these individuals provide, fostering meaningful civilian–military connections, funding programs that directly support service members, and creating opportunities for communities to give back through service and participation.
What is Shootout for Soldiers?
Our Mission is to use lacrosse as a platform to support American Veterans and First Responders, while fostering community engagement. With more than a decade of support from local communities, lacrosse players, and the military community, Shootout for Soldiers has become a leading force in using sport for social impact. While our premier events remain the cornerstone of our organization, our mission extends far beyond the field into communities nationwide.
The Shootout for Soldiers Experience
At the heart of Shootout for Soldiers are our signature lacrosse events, which have united communities from coast to coast across the United States, with events reaching from Hawaii to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Anyone is welcome to take the field and participate in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that blends competition, camaraderie, and purpose. Walking through the crowd, you will hear the sharing of war stories alongside stories of triumph and healing, exchanged between friends, comrades, and strangers. More than just a lacrosse tournament, the Shootout for Soldiers experience unites athletes, Veterans, service members, First Responders, and supporters in a shared commitment to supporting the American Heroic Community.

You don’t need a military background to be part of Shootout for Soldiers. Our mission is open to anyone who wants to support those who serve and those who have served our nation and their communities.

Shootout for Soldiers Grants
Our grant program is designed to extend the impact of every event beyond the lacrosse field by investing in initiatives that improve quality of life, promote wellness, strengthen communities, and provide meaningful resources to those who have served our nation.
Through the generosity of our participants, sponsors, donors, and community partners, Shootout for Soldiers provides grant funding to organizations and programs that directly support active-duty military service members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.
We prioritize funding for programs that advance our mission of honoring service, supporting military and veteran communities, and creating lasting positive impact. Grant recipients may include veteran service organizations, military support programs, adaptive sports initiatives, mental health and wellness programs, family assistance efforts, and other mission-aligned nonprofits that demonstrate meaningful and measurable outcomes.
Shootout for Soldiers typically allocates at least 30% of each participant’s fundraising total to support organizations serving the local community where the event is held.
