SHOOTOUT FOR SOLDIERS ANNOUNCES RALEIGH LOCATION
The 24-hour lacrosse event benefiting American veterans will be held at Cardinal Gibbons High School this summer

RALEIGH, NC (February 12, 2018) – Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event designed to raise money for wounded American veterans, will be played at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 2-3. This will be the first time that a Shootout for Soldiers event has taken place in North Carolina.

Since launching registration in January, nearly half the spots have been filled as registration has taken off. In the first two weeks of early registration, over $4000 had been raised by participating teams.

“I think this is huge for North Carolina lacrosse and will show Veterans and Active Duty service members just how much North Carolina supports them,” explains Michael Smith, Shootout for Soldiers Raleigh Event Director.

Raleigh was one of the three sites selected for expansion in 2018, including Washington DC and Seattle. Located near the largest military base in the U.S., Ft. Bragg, the Raleigh event is expected to have a heavy military population in attendance.

This event will begin at 7 P.M. at Cardinal Gibbons High School with the Veterans’ Game, followed by the two top fundraising high school teams at 8 P.M.
