SHOOTOUT FOR SOLDIERS RETURNS TO OHIO
The 24-hour lacrosse event benefiting wounded American veterans, will return to Thomas Worthington High School in Worthington, OH on July 16 and 17
BALTIMORE, MD (January 21, 2016) – Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event, will return to Ohio after an incredibly successful inaugural event last year. In 2015, Shootout for Soldiers Ohio raised $45,065 for our nation’s veterans through the support of 800 players and over 6,500 attendees.
“Shootout for Soldiers Ohio surpassed all of our expectations for our first year. The support that we received from the community went above and beyond and we were fortunate to have dozens of volunteers throughout all 24 hours of the event,” explains Shootout for Soldiers Ohio Organizer Merry Troper.
The Shootout for Soldiers Ohio team is excited to host an even greater event in 2016 and credits part of the event’s success to the local support they received. Troper continues, stating “The Ohio Sports Commission and Ohio Machine were integral partners in helping us spread the word about the event and connect with the local lacrosse community. We look forward to once again using the sport of lacrosse to support our local veterans!”
In addition to returning to Ohio, the event will expand to three new cities, with a total of eight events, in 2016 after raising over $408,000 last year. Those interested in participating in the June 3 and 4 Worthington event can begin to register March 1 at www.ShootoutForSoldiers.com. The games are open to both male and female teams of all ages, with honorary Veterans games opening each event. Summer 2016 events will begin in Boston, MA on June 3 and 4; Baltimore, MD on June 22 and 23; Atlanta, GA on July 2 and 3; Houston, TX on July 8 and 9, Columbus, OH on July 16 and 17; Long Island, NY on July 21 and 22; Denver, CO on July 28 and 29; and concluding in Dana Point, CA on August 6 and 7.
