Shootout for Soldiers Announces Strategic Realignment as Independent Organization
Long Island, N.Y. – Shootout for Soldiers today announced a shift in its operational framework, moving from a collaborative partnership under Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), and returning to an independent entity. Shootout for Soldiers is a nonprofit organization that hosts lacrosse experiences to support American veterans through fundraising and community engagement. This announcement marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Shootout for Soldiers as the organization works to meet the changing needs of both the lacrosse and military communities.
As part of this announcement, Shootout for Soldiers will launch a refreshed brand including an updated logo and website on February 2, 2024 as well as opening registration for its full “Summer 2024 Tour,” spanning Long Island, Canandaigua, Northern Virginia, Baltimore, North Carolina, and Atlanta.
“As we embark on this journey back to an independent organization, we look forward to continuing to support Team RWB in forging America’s leading health and wellness community for veterans,” said Erik Mineo, Executive Director of Shootout for Soldiers. “We’ve never been more excited about the future of Shootout for Soldiers and can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on.”
In 2021, Team RWB and Shootout for Soldiers joined forces in a collaborative effort to support the infrastructure and growth of both organizations. Throughout the duration of the partnership, the organizations hosted 15 national events raising $1.2 million dollars in support of nonprofits in the veteran and military sector. Additionally, Shootout for Soldiers made a $20,000 grant to Team RWB at the end of 2023. Since 2015, Shootout for Soldiers has provided nearly $500,000 in grants to support Team RWB’s mission.
“Team RWB and Shootout for Soldiers have partnered since 2015 and we’re grateful for the impact our organizations have made together over the past 3 years on those who have served,” said Mike Erwin, Founder and Executive Director of Team RWB. “Shootout for Soldiers’ contributions to veteran and military service organizations have and will continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of those who served.”
