SHOOTOUT FOR SOLDIERS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ULAX
The 24-Hour Lacrosse Event Will Partner With The Nation’s Largest Network of Lacrosse Leagues

BALTIMORE, MD (Dec. 19, 2018) – After a successful pilot program in 2018, ULAX and Shootout for Soldiers have partnered on a national level to help boost post-collegiate involvement in all twelve Shootout for Soldiers events in 2019. ULAX, which operates men’s and women’s leagues in over 28 cities nationwide, will help drive forward Shootout for Soldiers’ mission of using lacrosse as a platform to serve Veterans by increasing participation and boosting fundraising.

“We’re humbled by the support of ULAX, and look forward to expanding on our partnership this year,” explains Merry Troper, Executive Director of Shootout for Soldiers. “Last year we raised over $800,000 through the support of over 60,000 attendees, and we look forward to increasing those efforts in 2019. Knowing that our partnership is not just continuing, but building upon last years success to include more locations is what has me excited about 2019.  ULAX has done a tremendous job in growing the game of lacrosse and giving post-collegiate players an opportunity to continue playing and supporting our Veterans too.”

In furtherance of the partnership, ULAX will be organizing and supporting teams comprising of ULAX players, friends, and family in the various SFS markets.

“We had the opportunity to work with SFS in Columbus, Long Island, and Philadelphia this past year,” said Neema Kassaii, Co-Founder of ULAX. “As part of that collaboration, we organized SFS teams that consisted of players from our leagues in these three particular markets in order to support our Veterans and this great cause. It is our goal to duplicate our efforts from 2018 on a broader scale in 2019.”

In addition to connecting its members to the event, ULAX will be coordinating teams in Raleigh, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Boston, Long Island, Ohio, Canandaigua, California, and Seattle. Those interested in participating can reach out to a local ULAX league organizer to play.
