SHOOTOUT FOR SOLDIERS ANNOUNCES 2019 DATES AND LOCATIONS
The 24-Hour Lacrosse Event Will head to 12 cities across the United States in 2019
BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 19, 2018) – Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event, will continue to grow, coming off an $800,000 summer, adding Jacksonville, Fla. to the 2019 schedule, on Veterans Day weekend.
The tour will grow to 12 events, including previous locations in Atlanta, Raleigh, Baltimore, Boston, Washington D.C., Long Island, Canandaigua, Dana Point, California, Philadelphia, and Ohio. In 2018, the event raised over $800,000 with the help of over 13,000 players and 75,000 attendees.
“Following the success of Shootout For Soldiers 2018, I am looking forward to an extremely successful Shootout for Soldiers 2019 season,” said Merry Troper, executive director of Shootout for Soldiers. “I love meeting and talking to our Veterans and hearing their stories. I am proud that Shootout For Soldiers honors and helps our Military men and women.”
Since the event was founded in 2012, it has raised nearly $3.5 million, all for wounded American veterans.
The newest addition to the Shootout for Soldiers tour will be held in Jacksonville, Florida. on November 9-10, 2019 at the Indian Trails Sports Complex. Shootout for Soldiers will be partnering with a nationally recognized youth and collegiate sports marketing company that organizes premier destination events. The event marks a few firsts for the 24-hour lacrosse event, as it is the first time they will have an event in the Sunshine State and the first time they have held an event outside of the summer season.
“Shootout for Soldiers is a nationally recognized organization that Triple Crown lacrosse is honored to partner with to support veterans,” stated Tom West, executive director of lacrosse at Triple Crown Sports. “We cannot wait to start planning this event with SFS and engage the lacrosse community to join us next year to raise as much money as we can through the sport of lacrosse.”
Those interested in participating in an event in 2019 can begin to register January 11th at shootoutforsoldiers.com. Games are open to male and female teams while each event begins with a veterans and active duty game.
The 2019 summer will hold events in Atlanta, Ga. on May 18-19, Raleigh N.C. on June 8-9, Baltimore, Md. on June 17-18, Boston, Mass. on June 21-22, Philadelphia, Pa. on June 26-27, Obetz, Ohio on July 13-14, Long Island, N.Y. on July 18-19, Canandaigua, N.Y. on July 20-21, Washington D.C. on July 26-27, Dana Point, Calif. on August 10-11, Seattle, Wash. on August 17-18, and Jacksonville, Fla. on November 9-10.
