SHOOTOUT FOR SOLDIERS EXPANDS TO ATLANTA

The 24-hour lacrosse event benefiting wounded American veterans will expand to Atlanta on July 2 and July 3

BALTIMORE, MD (February 2, 2016) – Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event, will expand to Atlanta, along with two other locations this summer. Since its inception in 2012, Shootout for Soldiers has raised more than $900,000 for wounded U.S. service members, and looks to further its effort this year.

For Tyler Steinhardt, the Founder and Executive Director of Shootout for Soldiers, the expansion to Atlanta was an easy decision. “Lacrosse is exploding in Georgia, and you can see that from down in the youth leagues to up at the professional level. Both the NLL and MLL have added teams in the state, fueling the sport’s growth and appreciation in the region.”

“With a present military community, local support for our nation’s Veterans and the popularity of the sport, I’m positive we’ll see an exciting turnout in Atlanta this summer,” Steinhardt concluded.

Shootout for Soldiers Atlanta Organizer and former U.S. Marine, Brett Stevens, commented that, “We are very excited to host Shootout for Soldiers here in the sunny south, it’s a real privilege for the community to be able to give back through the sport of lacrosse.”

Shootout for Soldiers is expanding to three new cities, with a total of eight events, in 2016 after raising over $408,000 last year. Those interested in participating in the July 2 and 3 Atlanta event can begin to register on March 1st at www.ShootoutForSoldiers.com. The games are open to both male and female teams of all ages, with honorary Veterans games opening each event. Summer 2016 events will begin in Boston, MA on June 3 and 4; Baltimore, MD on June 22 and 23; Atlanta, GA on July 2 and 3; Houston, TX on July 8 and 9, Columbus, OH on July 16 and 17; Long Island, NY on July 21 and 22; Denver, CO on July 28 and 29; and concluding in Dana Point, CA on August 6 and 7.
