Warrior Ranch Foundation
Warrior Ranch Horse Interaction Program
The purpose of this program is to assist veterans and first responders with a focus on those suffering from PTSD. By rescuing, retraining, and repurposing horses, the Warrior Ranch Foundation will give veterans a path and purpose. The Warrior Ranch Foundation will educate veterans on the nature of horses. An equine specialist will do the initial retraining while the veteran observes. When the equine specialist deems the horse safe, the veteran will step into the arena with a trainer and execute the basic skills he or she was taught.

Strongpoint Theinert Ranch
Male Veteran Strongpoint
Cornerstones of our program include; connecting with fellow participants through shared meals and discussions, groups run by our licensed mental health providers, and utilizing the healing power of nature. By cooking a meal over an open fire at Starlands, learning therapeutic techniques, taking part in pillar events, or sharing during group discussions, together participants can start down the path to healing.
Though every retreat is unique, part of the therapeutic process includes utilizing our pillar events:
- The Labyrinth
- Fiddler’s Green
- The Legacy Hike
- Service Project
*Depending on group ability each event can be modified*
Female Veteran Strongpoint
Our goal at Strongpoint Theinert Ranch is to provide a safe space for female veterans to engage in intentional healing, make new connections, and find a healthy sense of renewal. Through guided groups, peer support, pillar events, and the restorative power of nature, female veterans can find strength and solidarity on their journey toward improved well-being.
Navigating trauma alone can be difficult, confusing, and complicated. The Ranch creates an environment that fosters connection, reflection, and growth through our holistic approach. During group sessions, participants engage in thoughtful discussion and learn techniques to assist their healing journey. Our pillar events utilize an alternative approach, and engagement in these activities gives space for introspection and connection.
Unit Specific Strongpoint
Strongpoint Theinert Ranch has the unique ability to offer our program to individual active duty, guard, or reserve units.
Every unit that comes out is dealing with its struggles, both as individual members and as a whole unit. A unit can experience the same traumatic event, but that event can be interpreted and impact each member differently. The Ranch provides a place where each person can process their experience and connect with fellow unit members to heal.
Strongpoint Theinert Ranch’s licensed mental health providers lead groups on therapeutic techniques and well-being strategies that help guide participants toward the path of healing. During group discussions, members can share their specific experiences and hear from other members of their unit to enhance connection and clarity as they process their experiences together. Pillar events utilize an alternative approach that further encourages introspection and connection with self and fellow unit members.
