BALTIMORE, MD (March 29, 2016) – Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event, has announced the ASPIRE Beverage Company as its Official Sports Drink. In addition to being the exclusive sports drink sold at its eight events across the country, ASPIRE will be sponsoring the organization’s nationwide summer tour.

Founded in 2012 by two Minnesota hockey dads that were concerned about the prevalence of sugary, caloric, neon-colored drinks being consumed in the name of sports, ASPIRE Beverage Company makes better-for-you sports drinks with natural ingredients that are designed to improve the health and performance of athletes. With only 8 grams of sugar and 35 calories per 12-ounce serving, ASPIRE has rapidly become the sports drink of choice for health-conscious athletes and active families. ASPIRE is one of the few beverages that meets the new USDA “Smart Snacks in School” guidelines for schools that were implemented in 2014 and is currently sold in high schools nationwide.

The healthiness of ASPIRE is what made the partnership with the Shootout for Soldiers a natural fit. “When we learned that ASPIRE was one of the few sports drinks to be sold in schools and understood its health-conscious origins, we knew right away that it was an authentic fit for the Shootout for Soldiers,” explains Tyler Steinhardt, Founder and Director of Shootout for Soldiers. “This is a drink that we feel good in supplying to our participants and a company that is value-driven and eager to give back to our nation’s heroes.”

The excitement for the partnership is mutual, as the nationwide growth of the Shootout for Soldiers provides an opportunity for ASPIRE to give back on a larger platform. “We’re honored to partner with such a great organization using the sport of lacrosse to bring the community together to support our nation’s veterans,” said Jesse Parker, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ASPIRE. The partnership kicks off with the first event of the nationwide summer tour on June 3rd-4th at UMass Lowell.
