BOSTON, MA (March 21, 2016) – Shootout for Soldiers, the 24-hour lacrosse event, will be hitting the road for a nationwide MLL Summer Tour. The cross-country tour builds on the existing partnerships between Shootout for Soldiers and the Chesapeake Bayhawks, New York Lizards, Boston Cannons and Ohio Machine. Each stop will coincide with a Shootout for Soldiers event, which will be expanding to Texas, Colorado and Georgia this summer for eight total locations.

In 2015, the organization raised $408,000 through the support of over 6,000 players and 46,200 attendees.

“What more can you say about the incredible work Tyler and his team have done for those who’ve served our country,” said Major League Lacrosse Brand and Marketing Manager Kevin Murphy. “Having the 2016 Shootout for Soldiers tour align with a number of MLL teams’ markets means that we can be even more involved this year. We are so proud to be a part of what will be an amazing summer of lacrosse for a great cause.”

Shootout for Soldiers Executive Director Tyler Steinhardt echoed this excitement, noting that, “We’ve had the pleasure of working with MLL players and teams for the last four years, and they have been nothing but supportive of the event and our mission. We’re excited to expand upon this partnership and hit the road to see all of these teams play.”

In addition to attending the MLL games, many of the partner teams will be on-site at the Shootout for Soldiers events, helping coach the Veterans Games that start each event. The Shootout for Soldiers team that travels cross-country in the RV will also be launching a podcast on MLL Radio this spring.

Those interested in participating in the events can begin to register atwww.ShootoutForSoldiers.com. The games are open to both male and female teams of all ages, with honorary Veterans games opening each event. Summer 2016 events will begin in Boston, MA on June 3 and 4; Baltimore, MD on June 22 and 23; Atlanta, GA on July 2 and 3; Houston, TX on July 8 and 9, Columbus, OH on July 16 and 17; Long Island, NY on July 21 and 22; Denver, CO on July 28 and 29; and concluding in Dana Point, CA on August 6 and 7.
